Paramics Estimator - Investigate, Explore & Understand


Estimator is a revolutionary OD Matrix estimation tool designed to integrate seamlessly with the core Paramics modules. Estimator utilises all aspects of the core Paramics simulation, ensuring maximum compatibility between the OD matrix, model structure, and underlying assignment techniques.

Estimator is designed to make the OD estimation process as open, transparent and auditable as possible. Users can interact directly with the OD estimation process "as it runs", avoiding the need for long cyclic estimation processes and placing the engineer's skills, local knowledge, and experience at the heart of the system.

Flexible Travel Demand Capability

Estimator uses common forms of observed traffic count data including link counts, turning counts, cordon inbound/outbound counts, and prior or pattern matrices. Estimator can be used to update existing travel demand data to incorporate new traffic counts or changes in trip generation. Estimator can also be used to transfer travel demand data from a larger strategic level traffic model to a more detailed microsimulation traffic model.

Estimator provides constant feedback on the "goodness of fit" between simulated and observed values using industry standard approaches to evaluator bandings/scores and assessment of key markers indicating the quality of the OD estimation process.
