Paramics Converter - Import, Refine & Preview

Paramics Converter is designed to take existing geometric network data from a range of sources and "convert" it into a basic Paramics network.

Converter reads network data and allows the user to "teach" the application how that data should be interpreted and transformed into a basic Paramics network. The user can then edit the basic network data through an interactive GUI and graphical display. Multiple views of the same data can be generated (each is called a dataset) allowing the user to make edits to the data and preview how they will look when exported to the standard Quadstone Paramics format.

Import Networks From Other Sources

Converter can work with data from various sources including, emme/2, Mapinfo, ESRI, Synchro, Corsim, Cube/TP+/Viper, flat ASCII, and CSV. As you can teach Converter how to read your data you can actually provide that data in any format you like, as long as some basic attributes are present i.e. node coordinates and a/b nodes per link.

Typically Converter will be used to quickly generate the base geometric layout for a new Paramics model where existing data can be provided from an external source i.e. a GIS database. Converter can produce the basic network layout including core attributes like link width, speed, number of lanes, bi-directional flags and behaviour flags. The user then takes this starting point and refines it using Modeller's easy to use editor to produce the finished microscopic traffic model network.
